Hopefully by now you’ve heard me talk about the Snowman Trek in Bhutan. That’s a little 25-day adventure, OK, a freaking EPIC 25-day adventure that I’m embarking on in September.
Yup, 25 days in the Himalayas. Sleeping in a tent. At altitudes as high as 18,000+ feet. But with views like this every day!
I think I can say it’ll be the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. Even more challenging than spending nine weeks on a motorcycle riding through Central America. Solo.
During the Snowman Trek our group will have porters, ponies and cooks. We’ll be carrying our daybags with water, snacks and layers of clothing. That shouldn’t be a lot of weight so our challenge, really, will be the 220 days of walking at altitude.
This is tour. So if you’re interested in challenging yourself and need a month-long break away from the usual, come join us!
We’re also raising funds as part of our WanderTours Giving Program. We’re working with RENEW Bhutan, an organization dedicated to helping women affected by domestic violence, to help fund one of their shelters (more details to come on this).
To help with our expedition costs and to also help work with RENEW, XShot – those folks who make the camera extender – have partnered with us as a sponsor!
I’m pretty certain I’m their biggest fan. I take my XShot with me on every trip, from New Jersey to Bhutan and often have it with me around Seattle, too – ’cause you never know when you’ll have an interesting backdrop to take that perfect selfie.
Whether you know it or not, you’ve probably seen countless photos of me taken with my XShot. Whether solo or with friends, I often pull out this simple yet brilliant accessory that makes selfie-taking a breeze. Like this photo of me.
Mike Shepherd, XShot’s President said, “We’re very proud to be a sponsor of WanderTours’ Snowman Trek in Bhutan. Not only will this be an epic adventure for those participating, but we’re thrilled by the opportunity of helping support RENEW. We are looking forward to discovering all the XShot pictures from Beth’s team along the road.”
I’m so happy to have XShot on board as a sponsor and look forward to the oh-so-many images that we’ll be able to take at the top of the world using our XShot with both our digital cameras and our GoPro video camera.
(By the way, I have to contain myself right now but this is the first of many exciting announcements that I’ll be sharing about this adventure.)
If you enjoy hiking and think you’re up for the challenge of this amazing trip, seriously consider coming with us. We guarantee the adventure of a lifetime AND we are so happy to be supporting a cause in Bhutan that is to vital to women.
Travel Well,
Congrats Beth!
