Squeal!
That’s me just thinking about going back down to New Orleans for our inaugural Culinary Tour.
For those who have been to NOLA, you know why I’m so excited. It’s a place that, when I mention the tour to people, their faces light up.
If you haven’t been, you’ve likely heard enough to know that it’s a must-visit city. The myth of New Orleans looms large and it’s never been so true than after Hurricane Katrina. The city is coming back with a vengeance – the culinary, music and arts scenes are thriving.
You should come see for yourself.
In May of 2014 we’re running our first New Orleans Culinary Tour. The focus is on the French Quarter where we’ll spend most of our time on this five-day trip. But we’ll get out of the city on a plantation tour and spend some time getting to know the city on the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus.
New Orleans has so much to offer everyone. Including lots of fun :-).
On this adventure you’ll also:
- Sample grits, po-boys, oysters and Cajun food at some of the most iconic restaurants in the French Quarter and other parts of this historical city
- Take a 1.5-hour guided walking tour of the French Quarter with a focus on food
- Learn about Hurricane Katrina and how the city is rebuilding the most devastated areas
- Savor cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe du Monde
- Head out of town for two plantation tours
- Tour Mardi Gras World and see how those big floats are made
This is a women-only tour and it’s already more than half full (word gets around quickly).
We’ll be staying at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, located in the heart of the French Quarter. You’ll spend time with our wonderful group of ladies but also have some free time to explore, shop and dine on your own (if you like).
Me? I can hardly wait!
Travel Well,
Beth

We’ve been watching Top Chef New Orleans. Definitely the place for a foodie tour. I love that more travel bloggers are offering tours, especially just city tours (vs. multi city tours). A great way to connect with readers.

I haven’t seen Top Chef NOLA yet but I had heard it was airing. Must check it out.
Regarding tours… our focus is actually on international destinations (www.WanderTours.com). These are to off-the-beaten-path places such as Papua New Guinea, India and Southeast Asia. We started offering the culinary tours as a “starter” tour to our international destinations. They’ve become so popular that we continue to add domestic destinations.
