My friend, Jeremy, emailed me yesterday and informed me that it was Blog Day. Created so that us bloggers could get to know each other and help spread the word about other bloggers we know and like.
OK – so I’m a day late. I kinda took yesterday off in preparation for the Labor Day weekend but felt refreshed enough today to sit down and think about some of my fave sites. I admit that I’m sticking with helping promote my friends because, what are friends for- right? Enjoy!
Of course, I have to mention Jeremy’s blog, National Parks Traveler. Jeremy and his buddy, Kurt, pull together a ton of useful and interesting information about National Parks – from policy to safety to tips to photos. If you want the latest info on a park near (or far from) you, spend some time on their site.
Diva in a Carry On – I just discovered this site (and a new “friend”) recently through Facebook and love checking out the fun products that no travelin’ diva should be without.
I had admired BlogHer Travel for a long time and only recently found out that it’s written by one of my neighbors. How fun! Pam’s got a great sense of humor and often digs up some excellent info about the travel industry.
Meg Noble Peterson is a woman that I met when I was writing my book last year. We quickly became friends and share lots of travel info via email (though we have met a couple of times at her NJ home). She chronicles her extensive travels on her personal blog. While she does include her domestic travels, she’s got some great stories from her three months in Asia earlier this year.
I also just recently met the Female Nomad, Rita Golden Gelman, as she’s a temporary resident of Seattle. She keeps us all posted on her latest adventures both in and out of Seattle.
Happy (Virtual) Travels!
