Though the days are getting noticeably shorter and we’ve been having regular precipitation in Seattle (giving me a break from watering my thirsty garden!), the sun IS still peeking through. This has given me the opportunity to test drive the Sustain sunglasses from Zeal Optics.
I don’t have to have things that are totally girly (contrary to what some may believe, I actually DON’T wear lipstick) but sometimes I like to add a dash of pink or something flowery to an outfit. That’s one reason why I really like the Zeal Sustain glasses in pink. Is that lame? I dunno, maybe I’m a marketer’s dream for that reason.
Anyway, I do dig these glasses for reasons other than the color. They fit quite comfortably on my head and aren’t so movie-star-big that they make me feel like a bug. Of course the polarized lenses are great for my eyes. But the extra feature that I like most is that there’s a little grip at the tip of the arms and on the nose so they won’t slip.
The one thing that I found slightly awkward for me is that the can ride up my face slightly meaning that they might end up sitting higher on my nose than I would like. I’m not sure if this is because of the grip guard on the arms or simply how they sit on my smallish head. My friend, Alandra, remarked last weekend that she didn’t like the straight-across-the-top look on my face so much, but that doesn’t bother me so much.
The Zeal website has a Face Fit feature that allows you to choose sunglasses based on the size and shape of your face.
These are available on Amazon for about $100.
