I’ve learned to appreciate the value of a base layer during my hikes in Bhutan’s Himalayas. While the weather can be on the cool side (mid 60’s +), when the sun is out and we’re hiking up to Tiger’s Nest or through warm valleys, it’s easy to work up a sweat.
Under Armour clothes provide a comfortable fit while drying quickly and cooling your skin during a warm hike. (I warn you, I do not look as good in it as this photo!).
Their AllSeason Reversible Longsleeve shirt clings tightly to your body, for warmth and drying, and has several features that make it ideal for trekking around – near or far from home:
- anti-odor technology to prevent microbes
- 30+UPF sun protection
- 4-way stretch material for ease in movements
- flatlock seams that prevent chaffing against the skin
On sale on the UA site for about $35.
The UA item that I’m wearing nearly daily is the Hundo 2.0 MicroFleece. I find myself wearing it around the house and on the warmer winter days that we’ve been having, I’m out and about it in when I run errands.
While it does use the same 4-way stretch material as the Reversible LongSleeve, it’s real attributes are that it’s:
- comfortable
- fitted for a woman (though it does bunch just slightly around the waist)
- got deep pockets outside and inside that can hold lots of items such as an iPhone, keys and a small wallet
Though it doesn’t appear that this particular style is available on the UA site, the Hundo 1.0 is in stock. This is the pullover version with a 1/4 zip.
