Summer’s hit Seattle fast and furiously. We’re due to hit record high’s today – upper 80’s. I’m in heaven! But not everyone’s on my side and many are trying to duck for shade. No matter which camp you’re in, you might find some of the following accessories useful wherever you are.
Beyond Coastal Active Sunscreen – This has an SPF of 30+Â with both UVA and UVB protection. It’s also water and sweat resistant. I can attest to that since I lather my nose up rather well and even on the hottest of days (like 100 degrees in Bangkok), it doesn’t seem to lose its efficacy. While I’m fond of suntan smelling lotions (think: coconut), I’m OK with this not being heavily scented. Available on Amazon (from $7.62)
Coppertone – I’m mentioning 2 sunscreen products because, well, for one, I received samples of both. But what I like about Coppertone is that they have a wide range of products this season including a 70+ UVA/UVB product specifically for your face and others for sporty folks and for kids. No discernible smell from any of their products (have coconut-scented sunscreens disappeared?). Available on Amazon (from $7.95)
Hearos Earplugs – These are the perfect travel item for flying as they cut down on all that white noise. But when you’re driving off to a beach vacation, they can keep down the raucous sounds of all those teens playing volleyball while you’re trying to read that latest thriller. These came in really handy while I was in Bhutan where packs of howling dogs regularly roam the streets. Available on Amazon (from $7.55)
Sleep Pretty in Pink Eye Mask – You definitely don’t want to be seen in public with this (i.e. on a plane) because it’s like wearing a bra for your eyes. Having said that, they are designed to not interfere with your eyelashes and ultimately our mascara. Available on Amazon (from $20)
Sleep Pretty in Pink Earplugs – Just in case you need matching earplugs for your Eye Mask! Available on Amazon ($12.99)
Whatever you’re doing this summer,
Travel Well!
