When I opened up the box for these shoes, the first thing Jon said was, “Why don’t they make shoes like that for guys? Well, in a different color. And minus the flower.”
His point was that he wants a comfy shoe that’s easy to slip on and off.
And he was right, the Jackie shoes from Ahnu are really easy to slip on and off AND are really comfortable.
When a shoe fits so well, it’s hard to gush, because they are doing what they are supposed to do. You’re not supposed to notice them – and that’s how these feel. Light as air. Almost as nice as the slippers I wear around the house.
I hadn’t noticed this right away but Jon also pointed out that the Ahnu symbol in the foot bed matches my bone necklace from Kauai. Though the Ahnu name comes from the Celtic goddess of balance, the symbol itself is pretty universal (mine was actually carved in Tonga) and the meaning can be interpreted as infinity or intertwining relationships.
Back to the shoes!
These feature non-marking rubber bottoms and an anti-microbial interior – so if worn for a full day, they’ll still be smelling pretty 🙂
The Ahnu’s are also great for spring as they come in colors for the season: light green, plum, light blue (above) and grey.
These retail for about $110 on Amazon.

Beth
