Savvy Traveler medical kit
When I was traveling around the Pacific Rim countries for a year in ’92, I got a bad infection on my leg. It started in Vietnam with a mosquito bite that I scratched. I then waded in the water in Vung Tau. Not known for it’s pristine waters, what with oil refineries and garbage polluting the waters, I limited my time in the water to just wading. But that was enough to infect the open bite on my leg. I ended up with a golf ball sized infection.
I remember the incident vividly to this day, but I won’t go into details here. What I will say is that I learned a lesson. Though I’m a natural kinda gal, avoiding medications whenever possible, there are some things that need to be tended to as soon as possible and having a handy medical kit in my toiletry bag when I travel can help avoid a repeat of my leg incident in Vietnam.
On a recent trip to Asia, I got about 100 flea bites and used cortisone cream to help curb the itch.
Enough about me…
I want to know about YOU! Tell me what you carry in your toiletry bag (including lotions, potions and medical supplies) and I’ll enter you in a drawing to win a Savvy Traveler medical kit from Adventure Medical Kits.
Please email me (beth at wanderlustandlipstick dot com) or fill out the form below to be entered. (Contest ends September 9th.)
(Fine print: Anyone can enter but only those in North America can win – sorry!)
