Girls near Bumthang
I’ve just finalized the details on a Buddhism focused tour to Bhutan that I’ll be leading in the fall of ’09. I’ve been working closely with my in-country tour operator to put together this very special journey for a group of Wanderlusters interested in learning more about the culture and history of Bhutan as well as their deeply held beliefs in Buddhism.
Highlights include:
- an audience with His Holiness Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye, the reincarnate of the lama who oversaw the building of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)
- a meditation session at Karchu Dratshang Monastery in Bumthang
- presentation of butter lamp offerings at Gangtey Goempa
- a visit to the Jachung Karmo Nunnery
There will also be plenty of time for photography, light hiking and witnessing some very unique teschus (festivals).

The tour is open to men and women and is limited to just 15 people. This tour will immediately follow the women-only India tour – for a limited time you can recieve a $500 discount if you sign up for both!
I hope you’ll join me for what will surely be a unique and once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Travel Well!
