The arrival of the Monsoon is a India’s most thematic season. The air is tinged with the sweet scent of frangipani, mangos fall plump and ripe from trees, lovers meet behind curtains of rain and poets sit and wonder at the capacity of the sky to brood. Monsoon is the lovers time, and here is a recipe for lovers and plump poets.
Required ingredients
- Thick Curd 10 t0 12 cups
- Powdered Sugar 8 tablespoon
- Mango puree 2 cups
- Cardamom Powder 1 teaspoon
How to prepare
- Tie the curd in a clean muslin cloth. Tie the cloth to a wooden spoon and suspend it over a bowl so that the water will drip away. This should take a few hours.
- Remove the solid curd from the cloth
- Add sugar and mango puree and thoroughly blend in a mixer
- Add cardamom powder and again mix well
- Chill for 2/3 hours
- Scatter chopped pistachio nuts over top.
To serve, feed in small spoonfuls to your lover during a monsoon storm. Lonesome poets should eat with puri.
