I’m sitting at my kitchen table staring out a big picture window. The Seattle rain (a heavy mist) is pouring down. I can barely see past the ridge that’s not far from our home. No sign of the Cascades or Mt. Rainier.
So, as I was looking through my photos this morning for what has become a somewhat regular Friday posting of a photo (see Debbie over at DeliciousBaby for more Photo Friday postings), this bright, cheery window in Oaxaca, Mexico stood out for me.
Plus, if I daydream about going to Mexico (and lying on the beach in a swimsuit), perhaps I won’t think so much about the bag of Halloween chocolates that I had to move to my garage so that I wouldn’t stuff my face with them!
Happy Halloween and Travel Well!

Beautiful shot…the blue of the building even more brilliant than the blue of the sky.
Good luck with that Halloween candy! 😛

I’ve always wanted to Oaxaca, but then again I want to go everywhere.

When I go through my photos from my two-week trip to Oaxaca in 2007 (my first solo travel, by the way!) I am struck by how many pics I have of windows. Perhaps it’s the vibrant colors that drew me to take them. But more likely I was intrigued with what lies within. In Oaxaca’s city center, many people’s houses look so ordinary outside, but inside they are marvelous, with courtyards and tropical plants and birds in cages and outdoor kitchens.
