About Dianne Sharma-Winter - Heart of India

Dianne Sharma-Winter · Blog

The first time she left home, Dianne was seven years old. Her plan was to wait beside the road for adventure to come and collect her. That didn't turn out so well as she got as far as her friend's house who promptly told on her for "running away". She was totally surpirsed at her context - she thought they had planned to run towards something, not away from anything!

The next time she tried it, she had all her bases covered. For sixteen years now she has lived life On the Road: in India and Nepal, across South East Asia, parts of the Middle East and her own South Pacific paradise island of New Zealand and a few other tropical paradises.

As a writer and keen observor of human life, India is her precious muse. She moves with the seasons and across the Heartland of Mother India, exploring places and faces, food and culture.

Journeys for her are measured in friends not miles. She has been blessed a thousand times over in her travels to be welcomed into the hearts and homes of many people met along the way. She invites you to meet them and hear their stories on this blog!
