I’m sitting at my desk and looking out the window at the pouring rain. The last month or so has actually been pretty mild around here – relatively warm and dry. But having just cleaned out the gutter so I don’t drown coming in the door with an overflow, now I’m just looking at dark skies and a steady downpour.
Nothing new about that which is why Northwesterners must have a good rain jacket in their closet (and why it gets used 9 months out of the year – HA!).
While I don’t look anywhere near as chic as this gal, I have to admit the MPG Synergy is one classy jacket.
This 3/4 length coat is waterproof and is primarily polyester with 10% spandex. Though it’s got a detachable hood, I don’t wear it on a regular basis. I would find the hood useful, however, if I were heading to the Oregon Coast or the mountains where I’d want to be outside a lot and the likelihood of rain is high.
The pockets are zippered – an excellent touch given not all jacket pockets have this feature. The pockets and the interior are also fleece-lined, making the whole jacket nice and warm. The upper back and two front sections are vented for some breathability so moisture doesn’t get trapped inside.
The cut, with its trim waste is all girl so that even when you’re all wrapped up in the rain, it still looks feminine (puts my REI rain jacket to shame).
Nothing could make this jacket it any better. Well, maybe if the pockets were lined with chocolate 🙂
Available for $154 on the MPG website.
Travel Well,
Beth
