I have a new favorite top in my closet. It’s the Better Than Before Scoop shirt from Earth Creations with a big ol’ lotus flower planted on the front. Anyone who has seen me in the last month or so has likely seen me in this shirt as it’s been in heavy rotation as we transition out of summer and into fall.
Though it’s short-sleeved, it’s made of a heavy hemp/cotton blend so it is a bit on the warm side. And with wide temperature swings throughout the day, I can wear it during a warmish day and then toss on a light jacket at night and it’s fine.
Specifically what am I digging about the Better Than Before Scoop shirt?
* The scoop. I like the fact that this tee doesn’t make me feel like I’m suffocating. With the lower neckline it adds a bit of femininity to the style, too.
* Love the lotus design. To me, this flower represents an inward peacefulness. And while I may not be feelin’ the peace all the time, I can at least look the part!
* The tapered fit is such that I can wear it tucked in or outside a pair of pants and it looks great either way.
* While we’ve had some unseasonably warm weather in the Pacific Northwest this September, it’s been a great shirt to wear in the evenings when it cools down. Going for a walk in this with a light jacket is perfect.
* I love the Earth Creations’ story of how this all got started…
Earth Creations’ clothes are inspired from the dirt, literally. Martin, the company’s founder, discovered that the red dirt of the Alabama soil made for a great dye when his wife couldn’t wash it out of her clothes. He took this potential problem and created a company around it. Many years later, their clothes still feature these clay dyes which is what gives them a natural tone and a perfect background for the simple designs that are featured on many of tops and bottoms. Earth Creations is also committed to using sustainable fibers and using them in such a way that are comfortable and fashionable.
The Better Than Before Scoop retails for $33 on the Earth Creations site.
Travel Well,
Beth
