Many women over the years have requested that I do a tour to Thailand. I’ve resisted because, frankly, (to me) Thailand isn’t a super difficult place in which to travel. The people are delightful, there are many hotel and restaurant options, and there’s often someone nearby who can speak English if you get lost, stuck, or need help.
But I decided that if I could offer a tour that was very different and incorporated activities that one might not do when traveling on her own, I’d have something I could feel really good about. So…
We recently announced the women-only Thailand and Laos Hill Tribe Tour for the fall of 2014. Already the tour is more than half full (with seven people signing up within days of it being announced!). It’s gonna be a good one :-).
Here’s what you can expect:
- Tour the most popular sights in Bangkok including its famous temples
- Visit hill tribe villages in Northern Thailand and also in Laos
- Watch robed monks early in the morning in Luang Prabang, Laos as they receive their alms for the day
- Overnight in a small village in the mountains and receive a Thai massage from a local expert
- Experience the Mekong River in Laos on a wooden boat
- Prepare and enjoy local dishes through cooking classes
We’re also thrilled to be partnering, once again, with Overland Equipment. Every tour participant will receive a free Donner Bag in her color choice.
Many of the ladies who have already booked have been on other tours with us. They did not want to miss out on this one. And neither do I. I’ll be leading this tour and I’m beyond excited. As in, “Really, I have to wait another year for this one?”
To secure your spot, click on the Register Now button on the Northern Thailand Hill Tribe Tour itinerary on the WanderTours site or send in your registration form with a check. The tour will sell out. There’s no time to hem and haw about it. Just do it :-).
