Memories of 2013 may be fading fast, but before we leap too far into 2014, here are a few snapshots of the roads I’ve wandered over the past year . . .
In 2013 I re-discovered the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with trips to the San Juans, Whidbey Island, Idaho,
The Dalles and Seaside, Oregon, thanks to my sponsored travel hosts . . .
I fell in love with Quebec . . .
and flew high, sometimes outside my comfort zone . . .

I sampled a multitude of culinary delights along the way, which fortunately were sprinkled throughout the year . . .
I made new friends fast . . .
probably because we spent most of our time lounging around in bathrobes when not in spas, saunas and hot tubs . . .
Oh, and I learned how to take selfies . . .
My 2013 travels brought renewed perspective . . .
reminding me to step back far enough . . .
and high enough . . .
to see the bigger picture of our life stories and how we are all interconnected . . .
and that even when skies seem the darkest, there’s always the promise of a new rainbow . . .
Here’s wishing you another year of Happy Travel Adventures both near and far, Wanderboomers!
Wander on!
Nancy
What were your 2013 travel highlights, Wanderboomers?

Beautiful photos of an outstanding year Nancy! Thank you for sharing them. Travel highlights of my year were an eventful trip to Oregon wine country, a restful weekend stay in Long Beach, WA and several trips in our motor home. We are dreaming of a “big” trip in the future, maybe not 2014, but soon – maybe Belgium and the Netherlands. I hope 2014 brings you lots of special travel and lucrative surprises!

Hello Nancy, I am planning to take some time for me alone. Leaving Arizona for French countryside. Speak very little French. Any thoughts as to where to go/ stay? I don’t want to waste money on hotels and resorts.
Nancy Mueller says
Hi, Kay! Good for you. From my experience, you don’t need to be fluent in French to enjoy a stay in France. I don’t have a particular place to recommend, but here’s a good place to start: http://www.les-plus-beaux-villages-de-france.org/en/the-most-beautiful-villages-of-france. There are so many beautiful French regions, but Provence is always a favorite ~

Amen to that, Kristin!

Thanks, Kathryn! My pleasure. Sounds like you had a lovely travel year as well. Oregon wine country is one of my favorite destinations. Wishing you, too, a year ahead of many more wonderful travel adventures!
