I’m a Mama! Big Papa is a Papa!
On Easter Sunday we brought Baby Bird home to our nest. Big Papa and I feel such relief to–finally–share this good news, our happiness…and, at long last, break our silence.
To all of you who have patiently and faithfully supported us along the many twists and turns our journey, we are forever grateful. And now, the real adventure begins!
Congratulations Beth! I am so happy for you. You have wanted this for such a long time. Yay! You’re finally a MOM!
Oh, Beth, I am overjoyed for you two and the tears are flowing. What a wee-deserved miracle! I can’t wait to hear more!
Big, big love!!
Such wonderful news Beth. Big congrats. She is a doll.
Amy,
Thank you so much! I know you understand–all too well–how long and arduous the journey to motherhood can be.
Welcome Ardea!!!! Long awaited wonder! Beautiful baby! The missing piece! Now make use of your support system… don’t expect everything to fall into place all at once. You have spent a long time waiting, as has she… it takes time for all of you to absorb the reality, to adjust to the roles. Reach out to your FRUA INC comrads….we are here for you. …and there is another new 3 year old coming to Heritage Camp August 3-5, not necessarily a recommendation for your guys, but let me know if you are interested.
Thanks, Terry. I am SO grateful for my adoptive Mama (and Papa) community. Our kiddo is just a wee 11-month old, so Heritage Camp…probably not this year. But I am looking forward to reconnecting with all sorts of folks soon!
Get out!! That’s THE BEST! I’m so happy for the three of you. Chirp! Chirp…Mama Bird!
Look at those eyelashes! I wish you much happiness with your beautiful daughter–you deserve it.
She is beautiful. Beth, I am so very happy for you. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the love that you have for her through stories and photos.
Debby
You can’t go to Heritage Camp you should come to Chicago for the reunion! Oh, Little Momma and Bid Poppa… she is all yours and meant just for you! Hard earned HAPPINESS.
She is truly lovely – she has such soulful, amazing eyes and such long eyelashes! What a tremendously lucky girl she is to have you for a Mom! I look forward to reading about your adventures.
Congratulations!
Melinda Eliza
We’re planning on it MB!!
Thanks, Susan! Our social worker has already suggested she has a future as a mascara model 😉
Thanks, Debby. She’s not the King (or Queen) of Bhutan 😉
But she sure is our own beautiful Armenian princess.
Thanks, Melinda! I’m lucky too…proud to be her Mama.
Now you’ll have to share your story with us all. I remember thinking when you said you couldn’t share it yet – please, please let that mean that she’s getting a baby. 🙂
Melinda,
I gave the thumbs up for WLL to post it and I think they will be doing that soon!
Oh Beth, I have goosebumps and am so excited for you! I had a feeling that by the time I got home there would be news from you. I can’t wait to see you and meet her. I will be here when you come up for air. xoxo, viv
Congratulations to both of you! It is the happiest news I have heard in a long time and she is LOVELY!
Finally!!!!! Never a sweeter word! 🙂
This is the best news. So thrilled for the new family! She’s beautiful.
Thanks, Jackie! I heard through the grapevine you were keeping an eye out for this news 😉
She is just beautiful! Happy day!!
Congratulations. What a treasure to be found after a long and difficult journey!
I’d love to get in touch when you have the time.
Viviane (Karen/Rex’s mama)
So worth the wait and tears. She is beautiful. I anxiously wait for your future posts!
Such wonderful news about your beautiful girl, Beth! So happy for your family. We’d love to meet her at the reunion in Chicago!!!
Viviane, I would love to talk with you as well. I’ll send an email privately!
Congratulations, Beth! I was so happy to read this. She is adorable. But, here’s the problem: how on earth are you ever going to say “no” to that face? (That’s a good problem to have.)
Happy for you both.
Wow! I’m so happy for you! What a beautiful baby girl! I’d love to hear more! Thanks for sharing! Tracy
Hi, Beth, I am 40+ year old hope-to-be adopting one of these years too. When I first came across your blog, I thought how cool! It was great to see a ‘kindred spirit’ out there – have been following your story, checking in now and then — and what a surprise to see this today! Happy to see you are home with baby now! Congratulations!
Patty! I am 50+ and, yes, a mother! Thank you for following my/our story and for the congrats. Our journey has been long and challenging, and I must say it is surreal to–finally–be a Mom. I would love to know when motherhood happens for you too. And it will. Hang in there…stay the course!
Beth, I don’t think you got my original post on this board, but once again, congratulations!! She is so beautiful!! And as a fellow 50+ mom, I can tell you that this little gem is the fountain of youth!!
