I met up with 7 awesome travel bloggers on a trip to Ottawa last week – a post-TBEX excursion that taught me more about blogging, social media, and Canada than I ever would have gotten elsewhere. I learned several new tricks in the kitchen, thanks to the Fairmont Chateau Laurier and the Cordon Bleu; tried many new foods for the first time (hello Head Cheese and fiddlehead ferns at Murray Street); and met up with the fabulous Ottawa food photobloggers at FoodiePrints for inside tips on the best places to eat.
I’ll be rolling out recipes and foodie field guides over the next couple weeks, but for now, I’d just like to share this super fun interview featuring me (WanderFood), and Vancouver blogger Marc Smith of 30 Day Adventures, on the Morning Show in Ottawa with Robyn Bresnahan. To hear her tell it, just being from California gives me culinary street cred. Hey, I’ll take it!
Highlights include me throwing the State of California under the bus for our faux Farm-to-Table snobbishness. Sorry California, but nobody does the locavore movement like Ottawa.
