Recently I visited the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico for Mundo Maya 2012, which in English is Mayan World 2012. This Mundo Maya 2012 celebration is a time of celebrating the culture and history of the Maya civilization. I will be writing an article about my visit to three separate Maya ruins. Today I’m sharing photos I took at each of the three, Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum.
A view of one of the buildings in the Tulum Maya Ruin complex.
I took this photo from just over half way up the Coba Maya Ruins. The view is gorgeous, but the height made me frightened. I only climbed to where this photo was taken.
This is the main temple structure in the Chichen Itza complex. Chichen Itza is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

One of the many carvings found at Chichen Itza.
