Why not skip the chocolate and flowers this year and surprise your beloved with a little liquid love? Even if you’re single, you can also show yourself some affection by making a few of these festive sips. These Valentine’s Day cocktail recipes were spotted on Liquor.com (a great site if you’re a spirits/cocktails enthusiast like I am). Legendary Los Angeles bartender, Allen Katz, of Caña Rum Bar provided Liquor.com these three Valentine’s Day cocktails, sure to spice up your celebration!
The Rose by Allen Katz
2 oz French dry vermouth
1 oz Kirschwasser (cherry brandy)
1 tsp Natural raspberry syrup
Garnish: Brandied cherry
Glass: Cocktail
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a brandied cherry.
Stolen Kiss by Allen Katz
1.5 oz Gin
1.5 oz Green Chartreuse
1 tsp Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
1 Egg white
Glass: Cocktail
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into two chilled cocktail glasses.
Between the Sheets by Allen Katz
1 oz Cognac
1 oz Triple sec
1 oz Light rum
.25 oz Fresh lemon juice
Glass: Cocktail
Garnish: Flamed orange peel
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Flame an orange peel over the glass and discard before serving.
