It’s hard for me to get my fill of Italian food when I head “back east” to the New York/New Jersey area. Last weekend, when I was there for the New York Times Travel Show, I filled up on pizza, eggplant parmigiana and a dessert or two (or three!).
During a big dinner out, one of my friends ordered tartufo. I had never heard of this before but I have to admit that it looked pretty darn good.
Tartufo is ice cream covered in a chocolate shell. In this case both chocolate and vanilla ice cream were used and the center sported a cherry. It was then cut open and topped with chocolate sauce and a dollop of whipped cream. Sugar bliss, don’tcha think?
