It snowed yesterday. I know that I am in Illinois and that it’s November, and that, intellectually, that is when winter starts to happen, but I’m finding it all a little hard to believe. Just a month ago, I was sunbathing on a beach in Tel Aviv. I am not emotionally prepared for winter in the Midwestern United States.
In the spirit of denial, I’m planning on spending my day cruising through Instagram and salivating over the amazing wanderlust-inducing shots in some of my favorite traveling yogi accounts. Just in case you want to get in on the action, here are five of my favorite yogi Instagram accounts that make me want to reach for my passport:
Kathryn Budig
Kathryn Budig (@kathrynbudig) is my all-time yoga girl crush. Her fun approach to yoga and message of acceptance make her a great person to follow on social media, and, since she travels all over the world leading yoga classes and as a spokesperson, her Instagram account is full of great pictures.
Rachel Brathen
When you think of yoga and Instagram together, you probably think of Rachel Brathen (@yoga_girl). The woman that introduced us to the hashtag #yogaeverydamnday, she maintains an incredibly active and inspiring Instagram account. She lives in Aruba and often travels, so her account is certainly not wanting for scenic eye candy.
Caitlin Turner
Caitlin Turner (@gypsetgoddess) combined the words “gypsy” and “jetset” to come up with her Instagram handle. As you might guess, she travels around a lot, and has the stunning pictures to prove it.
Sandrine Bridoux
Sandrine Bridoux (@frenchyogagirl) lives, as her Instagram handle implies, in France. She seems to spend a lot of time traveling between her home city of Paris to New York and Los Angeles, so if large, glamorous cities are your beat, she’s got you covered. She also has some nice beach shots thrown in for good measure.
Kerri Verna
If the beach is more your thing, look no farther than Kerri Verna (@beachyogagirl). As a yoga teacher in sunny Florida, she maintains an Instagram account full of jealousy-inducing yoga-on-the-beach pictures.
