It was a brisk fall day in Hyde Park, Chicago. I took a walk through a Cemetery. The sun had been out earlier but now it was grey. I shivered in the chill until I noticed the colors. The leaves were glowing against the greens and the flat backdrop of a misty sky. I walked faster to warm up and appreciated how nature seemed to wrap around the built environment. Oakwoods Cemetery is filled with sculptural shapes, textures, patinas and miniature constructs of a variety of architectural styles. I focused in on the ornate mausoleum doors.
