In honor of Wanderlust and Lipstick’s celebration of International Women’s Day, I’m highlighting a few tweets from Samantha that fit in with our site-wide theme of women being awesome. Girl power aside, I really do recommend following Samantha on Twitter. Her travel insight, articles and interesting point-of-view are entertaining and valuable, like this gem about the best time to book a flight.
The Call Out
Samantha leans into @BloombergView with a tweet about the lack of female contributors on the site. She even calls out that no women are listed in the site’s drop-down navigation for the Contributors section. When I checked five days after Samantha’s tweet, there was a woman added to that drop-down list along with six men. You go girl.
Startup Barbie
“As a career lowpoint, Dog Walker Barbie came with a scooper and trashcan for the magnets her dog left behind.” Samantha shared an amusing article from Linda Lacina about Barbie’s career path and the announcement of Barbie Entrepreneur, Mattel’s “Career of the Year.”
