Hostal Pensión Alemana is gem of a B&B Hotel in Cusco, Peru. Stop researching where to stay right now and book this for your Cusco, Peru trip. Hostal Pensión Alemana is about a ten-minute walk from the Plaza de Armas through cobblestoned side streets. On the way to Plaza de Armas, you’ll pass by boutique shops, restaurants, Plaza San Blas and souvenir shops.
Hostal Pensión Alemana
1. The Amenities
Most hostals and hotels in Cusco and the Sacred Valley include free breakfast but you never know what you’ll get. Breakfast at Hostal Pensión Alemana includes freshly squeezed juice, made-to-order eggs and, my favorite, cheese and jam. The sliced soft white cheese was served with bread and jam but we nixed the bread and kept the rest. Super nummy!
Another perk for this B&B were the balconies, open seating areas and the garden. We used these spaces as a place to relax from the city, read and unwind. The rooms are good, not bad or 5-star great, but the open community spaces give you a place that still feels safe but isn’t locked up inside your room.
Tip: Be sure that there are space heaters in your room while visiting during winter. The days are hot but it does cool down considerably at sundown.
2. The Location
Hostal Pensión Alemana is in a great spot that gives you a bit a peace from the city but is close enough to avoid needing taxis. Cusco is a very walkable city for an active and adventurous person despite the narrow streets and sidewalks.
The big draws in Cusco include Plaza de Armas, Sacsayhuaman ruins overlooking the city and Qoricancha, the Sun Temple. The location of Hostal Pensión Alemana is about a mile away from Plaza de Armas and Sacsayhuaman. The walk to Qoricancha is a bit futher but very enjoyable and safe.
