WanderFood Wednesday: Delhi Salad

No, not deli salad. Delhi salad.
After five weeks of travel in India and Bhutan late last year, I had my eye on this fresh salad that was served at our hotel. It was my last night in the country so I threw caution to the wind. After all, salad is a menu item that I don’t usually consider in India due to the often contaminated water supply. We all know under such circumstances it’s best to stay away from fresh veggies. I couldn’t resist, however. (And had no issues, thank goodness.)
Really, who could have turned their back on all that freshness?
I think my entree that night was pizza – but this was most memorable.

that looks REALLY delicious. and i am so glad you had no problems!
Looks light and tasty. Sometimes you’ve got to splurge on the most basic of foods
I think I would have taken the chance too—five weeks without fresh veggies!
Delicious looking salad!
What a delicious looking salad! I’m glad that everything (water-wise) worked out, I completely understand just needing a salad while traveling… sometimes you have to take a risk in the name of food!
Oh, I remember CHERISHING salad on some of my trips too! I don’t honestly like it much in “real life” but oh, I love it when I travel.
the same thought process once led me to eat crushed ice and tamarind syrup off the street in mexico—and to a very uncomfortable flight home! glad it worked out better for you.
Beth always knows what to eat. I want you to order for me!
