YOTEL New York is a world of its own. It is the first YOTEL not located in an airport and the first of its brand to hit the United States.
Check-in is simple and quick at the space age inspired kiosks located in the lobby.
If you’d like to store your bag after check-out, while you explore the city, Yobot (a robotic arm) can take care of that for you.
I had more than Yobot could handle but there was a luggage check counter on the first floor as well. I left my bags there while having a fantastic lunch at ESCA, which is within walking distance from the hotel.
After you receive your room key at the kiosk, take the elevators to the fourth floor, where you will catch another set of elevators to your room. This is a nice security feature for hotel guests. The common spaces are inviting, so it’s a popular place for locals to gather as well.
I had a First Cabin King room with a nice view of the Hudson River.
The work desk was comfortable and placed right next to the window. I spent evenings working here and it was very quiet. The sunset over the Hudson was a beautiful treat. This room runs about $200 a night in Times Square West. Smaller rooms are even less!
I was able to plug in my phone and listen to my playlists through the media center. There was a chaise lounge for watching TV and it was light enough for me to easily move where I wanted it.
I can sometimes get claustrophobic but the room was ample and the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom area made it feel even larger.
$200 in this location is tough to beat. I would absolutely stay at YOTEL again if they invested in new beds. The beds are fine if you are young or can sleep on anything.
I usually like beds that don’t have box springs, but these beds were very hard. Unfortunately, in an attempt to make them softer, they made them lumpy. I took the sheets off to see what was driving me crazy and it was a series of pads that had been placed between the mattress and fitted sheet.
I stayed three nights and could never get completely comfortable while sleeping. Otherwise, I adore this hotel and its innovative design, which I look forward to featuring more of in my next YOTEL post!

YOTEL was kind enough to offer me a media rate for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
