It’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed any coffee spots but in the spirit of Wanderfood Wednesdays, I decided to tackle this Pacific Northwest favorite.
What can I say about Stumptown that Seattleites don’t already know? Started in Portland in 1999, Stumptown made a name for itself by revolutionizing the way we think about coffee. By paying close attention to the quality of the coffee beans, including where they come from and how they are grown, the founders propelled coffee into a new spotlight (and some may say obsession).
While the coffee is undoubtedly good, a few of the Stumptown locations are what really seal the deal for me. The Ace Hotel spots in Portland and New York City scream of awesome. Coffee just tastes better when it’s surrounded by cool artwork and fun accessories like photo booths!
If you’re coming to Seattle, skip the crowds at the original Starbucks and head up the hill to Stumptown instead.
