As a travel journalist, I am constantly traveling to new places. I recently got back from a trip that consisted of eight different cities in the US over 25 days. You can imagine, in the summertime, I was traveling from hot and humid to cool and dry within the span of a week.
The biggest dilemma for that trip? What the heck do I pack for 25 days and very different weather situations? I am not a heavy packer, so I always want to be smart in the way I am piecing together outfits. Since this was for business, as most of my trips are, I wanted to be comfortable, but also chic!
One company striving to do just that is Anatomie Style. Chic is their motto and it comes across in every single one of their pieces. Not only that, they are dedicated to making women look great on the road, no matter where their travel destination takes them. Anatomie has travel-appropriate clothing for anywhere from an African safari to a yacht off the coast of Santorini, Greece.
Created by design duo Kate and Shawn Boyer, Anatomie is a designer travel collection for the modern woman. According to the site, the brand “allows women to explore the planet at their leisure, engaging in a wide range of activities while always looking absolutely perfect.”
I recently had a chance to review a shirt/jacket combo for Anatomie, so I decided to put the above claim to the test.
I was sent the Amory shirt to test drive. I decided to give it a try, looking for the chic and “absolutely perfect” brand claims. I have to admit, the brand delivered on all that…and more!
There were three colors of the Amory shirt to choose from. I have to admit. being in hotels a lot, I have an affinity for white (white sheets, white towels, white bathrobes…you get the picture.) White seems to have that chic luxury I’m looking for when I travel. And looks great when going into all those spas!
The biggest thing for me about the Amory shirt was the comfort! I thought it was going to be stiff and not breathable, but boy was I wrong! I decided to wear it more like a jacket, since that is what fit most into my personal style best. It worked great as a light throw-on jacket!
It’s lightweight and really soft against my skin. The best thing for me is that it’s the perfect plane companion. Like a lot of women, I am FREEZING on airplanes. Once we get up to 30,000 feet in negative temperatures, it’s hard to keep that plane comfortably warm. This jacket is a perfect combination of warm and comfortable. It’s also great to stuff in your bag since it’s pretty hard to get wrinkly (believe me, I tried!)
The best thing about this jacket though is that once you get off the plane, you can still wear it for the rest of the day. No need to bring a second change of clothes. Some of those long-haul flights can leave you tired and feeling much worse for wear. I really liked the way the Amory shirt allows you to feel chic and somewhat presentable if you are stuck for a few hours before getting into your hotel room!
Chic and comfortable while traveling? Yes please!
