A picture is worth a thousand words. When I got back from the Galapagos last month, friends were all ears to hear about my trip. All I could answer was, “let’s look at my underwater photos”. I can describe to you what it’s like to swim with sea lions, how cold the water felt against my bare legs, the excitement at a baby sea lion darting by, the play-by-play of the sea lions themselves blowing bubbles in my face. But better yet… let’s look at my photos. 🙂
Â
I spent a week aboard an eighty foot catamaran, island hopping from beautiful beaches to stunning snorkel sites with a group of ten other people from all over the US and Canada. Each day was filled with new sightings of wildlife including manta rays, sea turtles, dolphins and yes, sea lions. I snorkeled, SUP-boarded, kayaked and hiked to my hearts content. And I took photos like no ones business. I’m embarrassed to say that at the end of the week, my photo card was chock full with over 2,100 photos with my GoPro HERO 3 camera. My best shots I found, were underwater with the waterproof case, snapping away at my new underwater friends.
Going through all my photos takes me right back to that shockingly cold yet refreshing water, and all of the various interactions I was lucky enough to have with those playful sea lions. I hope you enjoy the photos just as much as I did taking them. 🙂
