I’ve had the fortune of rowing the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon three times. Each day of each Grand Canyon trip, I see something new, something that wows and amazes me.
Right around this time of the year I would be gearing up for a trip in the big ditch. Unfortunately I made previous plans and won’t be getting to spend two weeks in one of the most spectacular places on earth. At least not this year. I thought I’d share some photos of past trips to remind me of the peace found on the Colorado.
“Night and day the river flows. If time is the mind of space, the River is the soul of the desert. Brave boatmen come, they go, they die, the voyage flows on forever. We are all canyoneers. We are all passengers on this little mossy ship, this delicate dory sailing round the sun that humans call the earth. Joy, shipmates, joy.”
