Mark my words, you will be hearing more about Vivo Barefoot shoes in 2012. I was lucky enough to try out their Neo Trail shoes and I wasn’t disappointed.
The Neo Trail shoe is designed for off road and trail running use. I was skeptical at first, as the sole was something I’d never seen before. It has these notches (“luggs” they’re called) on the sole that are multi-directional. To be honest, I was worried about feeling the notches as I ran, not to mention rocks as well.
So did I feel the notches and the rocks? Not at all. I quickly learned that these notches were designed to grip really well (which they did). The sole is puncture resistant and patented since 2003, I just had to get used to how it looked.
The thing I really loved about the Neo Trail is that I could run on a treadmill or on the trail; they were suited for both terrain. Not something that the other running shoes I have can brag about.
Having four different performance categories to choose from (off road, multi terrain, on road and amphibious), there is bound to be a shoe in there that will fit your needs. I’m already eyeing the amphibious ones for my river rafting trips…
The Neo Trail retails for $130 and you can buy them here at the Vivo Barefoot website, or onĀ Amazon.
