Compression clothing was something I hadn’t even heard of until the Outdoor Retailer show. And I’m guessing you haven’t heard of it either.
The idea of wearing tight clothes while working out sounded, well, just downright uncomfortable. But my views were changed when I started using 2XU compression thermal tights.
Compression clothing gives support to the muscles while exercising, decreasing muscle damage and strain. Also, compression clothing efficiently increases oxyegenated blood to tired muscles for both better performance and faster recovery. For me, they just felt GOOD when I wore them on my runs. They kept me warm but also were breathable, and tight but not cutting off circulation. I did my stretches in them afterwards, and I felt support from the pants but also able to move quite easily and freely.
I want to stress the fact that you don’t have to be a super athlete, die hard triathaloner to use compression clothing. I’m certainly not. Like most of us out there, I have this stuff called body fat. I don’t look like an ultra-marathoner. While I may be more comfortable in baggy shorts while running, I do understand now that compression clothing actually helps me exercise more efficiently. That’s something that my running shorts don’t do. I’m just sayin’.

2XU has three different categories of compression clothing; Perform, Xform and Refresh. I tried the Xform thermal tights, designed to be worn during exercise and while recovering. Perform is meant to be worn solely while exercising, and Refresh only for recovery. I’d recommend Xform for you first time compressers out there.
2XU Xform thermal compression tights retail for $130. The tights and 2XUs’ many other products can be bought at theirĀ website or bought here onĀ Amazon.
