Aruba Sunset

Relaxing at the bar where our catamaran departed.
Tonight was my catamaran sunset sailing adventure. It was an excellent night, filled with fun, relaxation, rum and the beauty of Aruba’s coastline from a catamaran. I took the De Palm Tours Sunset Sail from De Palm Pier with 24 other visitors. We were picked up at our hotels by bus and driven to the De Palm pier. Our sunset sail took off at 5:35 pm and returned two hours later. We had an excellent sailing experience and a beautiful sunset as we toured the coastline of Aruba and enjoyed an open bar and snacks.
We had an opportunity to take photos of the coastline in full light as we left the pier. As we sailed the sun slowly sank and appeared to slide beneath the waves. It was beautiful and even better than I hoped. I was apprehensive of the sunset sail tour before I departed. I’m a quesy sailor and I often get seasick. Normally I have accupressure bracelets that I wear on boats. When I departed the U.S I couldn’t find them, so it was with some nervous apprehension that I got on the boat tonight. Happily the water in Aruba is smooth and the sail was calm. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the coastline and enjoy the beauty of the ocean around Aruba. It was an experience I would recommend.
I met some wonderful people on the catamaran. Again today I met more repeat visitors to Aruba. This particular group was on their fourth visit from the U.S. They come for a week each time. They love Aruba and they spoke highly of the island and it’s people. That has been a reoccuring theme of this trip. I constantly meet people who have returned again and again to Aruba, described as “One Happy Island.” It is one happy island and I too intend to return to experience more of Aruba’s beauty and culture.
*Though this trip has been provided and paid for by Marriott Paradise Resorts I’m writing each of my Aruba adventure pieces with the same integrity and honesty as I would if I had paid for the trip myself.
