I am fascinated with the subtleties of language. For example, the variety of nuance available in goodbye phrasing is amazing and beautiful to me: goodbye, so long, see you soon, farewell, safe travels, etc. When saying farewell or safe travels in Romanian, you say “drum bun” which means “the good road.” I especially love the possible layers of meaning in this phrase.
This will be my last post on Global Snapshots; Louise Lakier will be taking over the reigns for me. And so it is, after two wonderful years blogging on Global Snapshots that I say to you, dear reader: drum bun – safe travels – goodbye.

I have greatly enjoyed my time here on Wanderlust and Lipstick. Thank you for traveling along with me. I hope our paths cross again, until then, drum bun; may you be brave, experiment, and find joy in your travel photography and all of your creative endeavors.
In Joy,
Melinda Eliza
PS – Later this year I will be launching a creativity coaching website that will also include a portfolio and shop for my photographs, paintings, and on-line courses. At this posting, I’m not sure when the launch date will be, but the URL (once active) will be www.MelindaEliza.com.
