Happy New Year!
I wish you a year of inspiring travel. Here’s hoping the muses tag along with you everywhere you go. May you end this year with albums full of amazing images and a heart full of fantastic memories!
2013 will be a year of recovery for me (you can read more about last year’s wild ride by clicking here). As I regain my health, endurance, and freedom I will not be traveling as much as I’d like, nor will I have the time to devote to frequent, meaningful, and fun posts here on Global Snapshots. Never fear! I am partnering with the talented professional photographer Louise Lakier; together we will post images, theory, and tips about travel photography. Louise will begin to share her art and travel-photo theory with you in just a few days. Here’s a bit of what you can look forward to:

- Louise is a Documentary Storyteller, Traveler, and Trail Explorer.
- She can be found immersed in nature, lost in the moment, or experiencing a new culture.
- Check out her website.
- She is currently traveling and photographing in Central America.
- Her missions for travel blogging include, but are not limited to the following:
- Learn Spanish and surfing
- Experience complete cultural immersion
- Document unique homes and experiences
Sounds great, don’t you think? I can’t wait to travel along with her! Hmmm – I wonder if I can learn surfing vicariously? We’ll see – but I’m sure I will gain some great photography tips from Louise and I know that we’ll all enjoy her images of Central America. 🙂
When I count my blessings, Beth Whitman and the amazing women of Wanderlust and Lipstick are among the most joyful, treasured relationships on my list. Of the many talented bloggers on this website, I have only ever met three of them face-to-face and yet this sisterhood of passionate, wandering souls is dear to me. As are your my valued readers. Thank you for sharing your photographic and artistic journeys with me.
Again – all the best in the new year. I look forward to being a continued part of your creative life. I welcome Louise with open arms and recommend her to you. Here’s to collaboration, pARTnerships, and the joys of travel photography!
In joy,
Melinda Eliza
