If you’ve ever visited Cinque Terre, Italy or know a friend who has visited, you know a bit about the charm and allure of the five small fishing villages connected by trails on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. In anĀ article from Travel+Leisure, Cinque Terre gets called out for having an amusement park vibe and a mass of tourists. Cinque Terre is so beautiful that it was inevitable that it would become a tourist trap, although I refuse to call it that. I adored it and would go back in a heartbeat.
Fortunately for the reader of the Travel+Leisure article, the author goes on to suggest some of Europe’s most charming villages to visit, including Tellaro, a village just a few miles away from Cinque Terre that is high on beauty and low on beastly crowds.
The comparison between Tellaro and Cinque Terre is a bit like the comparison between the Travel+Leisure Twitter page and the Travel+Leisure website. Both are great…but one is less crowded, easier to manage and just as rewarding.
Followers of Travel+Leisure on Twitter can expect pictures to remind them of paradise on a cold day, links to articles and Twitter Chats every Tuesday. The latest chat in their #TL_Chat series was with author Gary Shteyngart (@Shteyngart) to discuss Shteyngart’s path from a novelist to a travel writer.
The beauty of the Travel+Leisure Twitter page is matched by the content and articles on the website but sometimes a simple Twitter feed is better at providing information than a crowded homepage with ads.
