Those with lively livers listen up! Everything is bigger in Texas and beer drinking is no exception. The Houston Beerathon features 26 beers, 26 bars, and endless ‘brew-haha’.
After the successful NYC Beerathon, Houston steps up to take the challenge with their first annual Beerathon. It’s a great way to see the city and make new watering hole friends. The course, designed by a certified Beerathon Course Map veteran, who planned prior Beerathons in other cities like New York and Los Angeles, takes you through Rice Village, Midtown and Washington Avenue to visit some of Houston’s most happening bars.
Because Houston is more spread out than Los Angeles in size, shuttling will be available throughout the course from 11 am – 9 pm. Tickets are $20, proceeds going to local non-profit charities.
It’s a win-win: you get a bounty of beer and others get helped by your valiant effort to finish race.

Beyond Houston Beer Bars
Having just returned from Houston to explore their arts scene, here are some other great cocktail bars I found:
Anvil Refuge & Bar – King of Houston’s craft cocktail movement.
Zimm’s Martini Bar – Owned by Steve Zimmerman of La Columbe de’Or: best boutique hotel in Houston.
Latin Bites – Houston’s only Pisco bar with over a dozen Pisco based cocktails including the best mocktail and cebiche I’ve EVER had.
Royal Oak – Try Houston’s own Leprechaun Hard Cider here. Great outdoor patio in Houston’s hippest neighborhood.
