Some hoodies are made for the gym. Some are a little more stylish. The Jameson Hoodie by Ecoths falls into this second category. With its slightly stretchy fabric and trim but not too tight cut, I found it to be a good choice for indoors or warm weather. It is thin enough to wear under a jacket, for when you need another layer, but still suitable for solo use when the temperature is above sixty-five degrees.
The Jameson Hoodie is made from 100% organic cotton slub jersey. Yes, you heard me right. I said cotton slub jersey. When I first read that I thought to myself, what in the world is a slub jersey? Well, it is a jersey made of cotton slub* and as we all know (without having to look it up online) jersey is a knit fabric, not a shirt style. Anyway… all that really matters is that this hoodie is super comfortable. The fabric is lightweight and a pleasure to wear. The detailed stitching adds a nice accent and the hand warmer pockets are big enough for your hands, but no so big that you’ll be tempted to carry anything extraneous.
When I flip up the hood, which is palatial, (like Ezio from Assassin’s Creed II palatial, for all the gamers in the house) it feels like the world around me, or at least the one on the periphery, disappears. Which is exactly what you want in a hoodie. Put your ear-buds in, flip up the hood, lean back in the chair and enjoy your flight. Wherever you’re going, you’ll be happy you brought this hoodie along.
The good:
- comfortable
- lightweight
- packs down small
- stylish
- hood is palatial
The bad:
- will not assist you with any parkour moves (again with the gaming reference)
The more you know: Cotton slub is cotton which contains slight lumps or imperfections giving it a rougher and more casual look.
