I love reading and rafting. I know other people love to read and go rafting, albeit not at the same time. This year, I joined Passports with Purpose, Room to Read and O.A.R.S (Oudoor Adventure River Specialists) to help build two libraries in Zambia. And YOU can participate, and win prizes, just by spending ten bucks! A total WIN-WIN situation!
Here’s how it works. You click HERE to go to the Passports with Purpose website, which lists lots of REALLY COOL prizes that travelbloggers have worked to get donated. A $10 tax deductible donation gives you one entry to win the prize of your choice from the list on their website. Every $10 you donate, you get one more opportunity to win a prize of your choice. You can bid NOW (!), up until December 16th. The goal that Passports with Purpose has set is $80,000, enough to build two libraries in Zambia, so we better get crackin’!
One of the many prizes you could win is a 4-Day White Water Rafting Trip for Two on the Lower Salmon River with OARS!
Located in Idaho, the Lower Salmon River offers outdoor fun for all ages. Beautiful scenery, exciting whitewater, spectacular camps and experienced guides make for a unique and adventurous vacation. If you’ve never tried rafting, the Lower Salmon is an excellent river to start on. Prize includes meals, catered camping for three nights, skilled professional guide service and high quality equipment including tent. Valued at $1,814! See full itinerary here.
FINE PRINT: Price does not include pre and post trip accommodations, travel insurance, applicable taxes and fees, and gratuities. OARS must have 6 regular paying guests on the date of your launch. Valid through the 2012 season.
OARS just recently began offering white water rafting trips on the Zambezi, a river they financed the first descent of back in 1981. They recognize the importance of supporting development in the countries they operate in, and immediately jumped on the bandwagon to support Room to Read and Passports with Purpose. Thank you OARS for your generous donation!
