I was excited to pull these Ara Paris boots out of my closet recently when the weather started to turn and the rains started to hit Seattle. Having received these in the spring, I didn’t have much of a chance to give them a good test drive until things got nasty.
Not only do these boots look swanky, but they’re so soft you can barely feel them around your leg and ankles. They are made from stretchy Gore-Tex uppers and, as far as I’ve been able to tell, are completely waterproof.
Available on Amazon for about $195.
In terms of packing, the heel takes up a bit of additional space I might use for clothing or accessories but the uppers can be easily folded, a luxury that you wouldn’t find in a pair of leather boots. Better yet, wear them to your destination and look stylin’ on the plane.
I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them for doing a lot of walking or standing, but they do dress up most outfits and as we head into the winter months. Careful on snow and ice as they can be a bit slippery but all in all these might be a great addition to the few items you pack for that next trip.
