As we head well into the cooler months, it’s time to pull out the long sleeve shirts and extra layers. But the trick is to still be able to pack light so that you’re not taking up too much space in your luggage – even for shorter weekend getaways.
The Rookie top from Horny Toad has proven to be a versatile item in both my closet and my luggage. It’s made of organic cotton and is soft and lightweight (read: easy to pack). It looks great on its own AND by adding a short-sleeve tee underneath, you’ve got an extra layer to keep you warm.
Horny Toad offers a guarantee on all of their clothes, too. If you don’t receive a compliment after wearing your Horny Toad item, you can return it. Seriously. Of course, if you find something wrong with it, the same guarantee applies.
Available on Amazon for about $52.
Horny Toad recently took on another line of clothes as part of their brand, Nau. I was actually relieved to find out that Nau had been resurrected. Known for their sustainable clothing, Nau had gone under a few years ago but came back to life recently with the help of Horny Toad.
Perfect for your fall/winter closet is Nau’s Wide Merino Barre Scarf. Though it’s sold as a scarf, it’s large enough (15 feet of fabric!) that it actually makes a more appropriate shawl than scarf. Plus, since it’s made of fine Italian wool, it’s classy enough to wear with a dress. Personally, I’ve found it to be such a lovely piece that it should be worn as a shawl (and featured) rather than hidden under a jacket as a scarf.
It’s so nice, that it would make a great holiday gift but you shouldn’t wait to buy one for yourself 🙂
Available on the Nau site for $98.

Beth
