Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite travel clothes from 2011…
Vajra Jacket – The best travel coat for cool weather, this is the Vajra jacket from Sherpa Adventure Gear. It’s insulated, packs down into its own pocket and is lightweight. Room enough to wear layers underneath and has a drawstring bottom to keep it nice and fit. If you’re headed off to some cold destination, this must go with you.

Nosilife Darla Long-sleeved Shirt – This insect-repellent infused shirt is great as a protective layer during travels to the tropics. It’ll repel the bugs and keep the sun off your skin. It’s also light, breathable and easy to wash and dry. Also great for an added layer when you’re hiking.

Darn Tough Socks – It wouldn’t be the holidays if you didn’t get or give socks. This season, check out the huge assortment of designs and styles from Darn Tough. They’ve got heavy and lightweight options. Added bonus? Darn Tough Vermont guarantees that theirs will be the most comfortable socks you’ve ever worn, or your money back! Available on Amazon.

OluKai O Waho Boot – Known for their flip flops and sandals, OluKai really hit a home run with the O Waho boots. These pull ons are about all I’ve worn in the last month. They feature leather uppers and non-marking rubber soles. They are water resistant but I’m not sure that I’d want to traipse around in the snow in these. Still excellent shoes for travel or home.

Horny Toad Chaka Dress – If a simple little black dress is all you need and want, the Chaka is a great choice. You can wear it at the resort in Hawaii, dress it up with a scarf and some jewels for a night out or relax in it over happy hour drinks. The cinched waist gives it a nice feminine feel. Available from Horny Toad for about $38!

Jumla Hat from Sherpa – Tight woven 100% lambswool makes this very warm. It has a Polarfleece lining which means your head won’t get all itchy. Comes in a wide variety of colors – great for travel or just to keep you warm this winter. Available on Amazon starting at $13.

Artemis Hoodie from Triple Aught Design – Made from Australian Merino wool, the Artemis Hoodie is warm warm warm and has a perfectly feminine cut. Though the hood is excellent for added warmth, my favorite features are the thumb holes. They give me some added coziness when I slip these on, whether over bare skin or light gloves. Available at Triple Aught Design for $170.

prAna Chloe Shirt – I like prAna clothes because they are well made, they suit my funky/international-style of dress and are, most importantly, really comfortable. The Chloe is an excellent travel top because it’s light and layers easily. If I’m heading to the mountains, I wear a short-sleeved t-shirt underneath and a light jacket over it. I can then strip off any one layer if I warm up quickly. Available on Amazon for $50.

Horny Toad Improv Jacket – I was drawn to the Improv jacket because of the double button loop closure down the front, giving it an Asian flavor and making it far nicer than any sweatshirt I own. It’s something I can wear as a light jacket at a dinner party, but because it’s a relaxed fabric, I can wear it on a chilly night around an outdoor firepit. Available from Amazon for about $85.
