Jessica Blotter is a journalist, speaker, advocate for the greater good, and CEO and co-founder of Kind Traveler, the first ‘Give + Get’ hotel booking platform. What does that mean? In simple terms, it transforms travelers into a force for good that benefits communities, animals and the environment. Your donated funds then go to non-profits that help a variety of programs in communities around the world.

Moved by an experience on a trip to Belize in 2012, Jessica knew she needed to do something to give back. Combining her love for travel, sustainability, animal welfare and the desire to make a social impact, she created Kind Traveler.

I met Jessica in San Diego when we were both speaking at the Travel and Adventure Show. I knew very little about Jessica or Kind Traveler so this conversation was a wonderful exploration for me. We touched upon a number of topics including how and why she started Kind Traveler, how we can all be both better informed and more ethical in our travels and how she manages to stay grounded while running a startup.
