The only storyline in this book is the one that will be dancing around in your head after you look at the beautiful photography of the recommended accommodations in The Americas, Atlantic, Caribbean & Pacific. The book is from Conde Nast Johansens and includes listings for hundreds of luxury properties.
This collection is just one of six of their guides – the others cover the rest of the world. And if you don’t know where to start, just take a look at their website and start browsing.
As a backpacker who really and truly enjoys traveling “close to the ground”, as they say, it’s hard for me to believe there are enough people out there spending the dough that’s necessary to keep these places in business. But I’m assured by my partner who aspires to be one of the people who intends to keep these places in business, that there are lots of folks willing to spend their vacation dollars lounging around endless pools in Bahia, Brazil or playing tennis in Antigua.
While I may not turn down a trip to one of these places were it to come my way (hint hint), I can live with Couchsurfing and Servas in the meantime!
Happy Travels!
