Idaho.
I’m leaving on Wednesday to speak at the University of Idaho in Moscow. I can’t say that I’ve ever been to Moscow so I’m pretty excited.
I’ll be speaking to a journalism class about travel writing and then later in the day at the Women’s Center about my book and to (hopefully) inspire a lovely group of women to map out a grand dream journey.
I had planned to ride my motorcycle for this 3-day trip (and really make it an adventure) but it’s been raining raining raining in Seattle and the 10-day outlook here and all the way to Idaho appears to be more rain. What do you think?

Anyway, the completely cool part of this trip is that I’m taking my own advice and am couchsurfing for the two nights that I’ll be away. I’ll be crashing on someone’s couch on Wednesday night in Walla Walla (a good stopping point and I have friends who live there that I hope to see) and then again in Moscow on Thursday. I’m looking forward to meeting some new people who support the travelers and to learn a bit about their communities.
My book tour continues later this month with stops in Gig Harbor, Bellingham, Vancouver (B.C.), Eugene and Medford, OR and then on to the Bay Area. See my full schedule here and please stop in to say hi.
Happy Travels!
