“Charming” is not a word you would use for many cities in India. But Pondicherry, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, is definitely a place that can be considered as such.
Walking around the streets of this seaside town, I came across a chocolate shop, Choco-La, that was bursting with a variety of treats not often found on the subcontinent. This included hot chocolate, truffles and little containers of mousse (pictured above).
I managed to pass up the sugar when I visited as I had already had a big dessert earlier in the day. But days later I was pining for one of these and can almost taste that vegan mini mousse even here in Seattle. (Note the prices – 60 rupees is about $1.50 – expensive for India but oh-what-a-bargain!)
