Looking for an easy-peasy way to set the mood for your 4th of July holiday? Why not start your day with a healthy parfait filled your favorite seasonal berries – red, white and blue, of course.
This hardly needs a recipe, but if you insist . . .
Happy 4th of July Parfait
Alternate layers of the following ingredients in a parfait, soda fountain or white wine glass:
2 cups traditional plain yogurt (My favorite: The Greek Gods Artemis Greek Yogurt)
4 – 8 teaspoons of Agave syrup
2 cups of your favorite granola
2 cups Raspberries
2 cups Blueberries
Top with a sprinkling of nuts (cashews, walnuts, almonds) & a small American flag
Makes 4 servings.
The wonderful thing about parfaits, of course, is that you can vary the ingredients by any amount you wish. And if you’ve already had your breakfast by the time you read this post, the parfaits are sure to add pizazz to your Independence Day barbecue.
There. It doesn’t get much easier than that, does it?

No Nancy, it doesn’t get much easier than that (or at least it doesn’t once I find some Agave syrup….) Sounds wonderful. I want to start occasionally making special meals for my family and this one will work will as a dessert.

I know what you mean, Carol! I’ve just started substituting Agave syrup for sugar, but once you have it, you can use it for your other desserts, too. Often I don’t use any sweetener at all because the berries are sweet enough for me :-). Thanks for your comments ~
