Beth, Lovely pics!
what kind of hummingbird food do you use? we have a powdered kind that we change every few weeks. In summer the hummers would drink it, but now they just hover and flit away. The only thing I can surmise is that the food is stale, or badly mixed or something like that. Or mabye the lady next door has better hummingbird food in her feeders!

Lately I have nuthatches, titmice, chickadees, two kids of
woodpeckers and juncos. On sunny cool days the bluebirds return
with their babies and jump in and out of their nest box. Love
my birdies! Beautiful pics!
I was never into birds before visiting the Galapagos Islands this past summer. But I’m a huge fan now – and your photos are fabulous, Beth! Thanks for sharing them with us ~
Beth Shepherd - Pampers and Pakhlavasays
I dream of photographing blue-footed boobies in the Galapagos. But then the birdies in our yard are MY birdies…even if they are “common folk.”

Kate, I use sugar water in a 1 to 4 ratio (e.g. 1 cup sugar to 4 cups water). I usually get fine Baker’s sugar and just give some good stirring with a spoon. They love it…no food coloring.
Great pics! (from a fellow bird-nerd)

I love your bird photos!!
Lucky you, MB! We have all of those two, though not bluebirds, but we do have scrub jays and occasionally Stellar jays. I too, love my birdies 🙂
Nice shots! Love the first one in particular.
