Down by the river, I have been playing with long exposures. The Rio Caldera in Boquete flows quickly through the site of the Hostal Refugio del Rio. Dusk is the perfect time to turn on the outside porch lights, set-up my tripod, compose, and capture. The longer exposures soften the water flow and capture theĀ gentle movement of the plants waving in the breezes. By closing down my aperture the lamplight and lines stay crisp. A sturdy tripod and a shutter release cable are my crucial tools. I enlisted a lovely model from Melbourne to sit and stand like a statue while photographed. While the Treehouse is just steps away from the main building, its siting and orientation on the river’s edge gives it a feeling of privacy, solitude, and tranquility.
